Mirragen and MirraSurg offer fully synthetic, bioabsorbable matrices for wound management. Midwest Surgical Partners helps clinical teams understand the technology and prepare to evaluate it through published evidence, product handling education, documentation resources and facility review support.
We work with your clinical and operational teams to address the practical questions that come before the first application—and remain available as your evaluation progresses.

Mirragen is a fully synthetic, bioabsorbable glass matrix for managing challenging wounds, including diabetic, venous and pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and wounds with tunneling or undermining.
Its soft, moldable fibers can be shaped to fit irregular wound contours, helping clinicians achieve contact with the wound bed. The porous structure absorbs wound fluid and provides a temporary scaffold that supports natural wound healing as the material gradually absorbs at the wound site. Supplied sterile, Mirragen requires no thawing and contains no human donor tissue.
MSP helps your team evaluate where Mirragen fits within your wound care approach, with clinical evidence review, product sizing and handling education, documentation resources and follow-up throughout your evaluation.

MirraSurg is a fully synthetic, bioabsorbable glass matrix for managing surgical and traumatic wounds, including wound dehiscence, donor sites, post-Mohs wounds and wounds with tunneling or undermining.
Its soft, moldable fibers adapt to irregular wound contours, allowing clinicians to shape the matrix to fit the wound bed. The porous structure absorbs wound fluid and provides a temporary scaffold that supports natural wound healing as the material gradually absorbs at the wound site. Supplied sterile, MirraSurg requires no thawing and contains no human donor tissue.
MSP works with surgeons, nursing and supply chain to review product sizes and handling requirements, prepare facility review materials and coordinate staff education and product availability. We remain involved throughout the evaluation to address product questions and gather your team’s feedback.
Partial & full-thickness wounds, ulcers (pressure, venous, diabetic, & chronic vascular ulcers), surgical wounds (donor sites/grafts, post-Moh’s surgery, post laser surgery, podiatric, wound dehiscence), trauma wounds (abrasions, lacerations, 1st & 2nd degree burns, skin tears) and draining wounds
Mirragen® is an intentionally engineered porous scaffold made of bioactive glass fibers and microspheres, designed to create an ideal environment that supports the wound healing process. Unlike typical glass, bioactive glass is a soft, fibrous material that conforms to the wound. It is composed of elements naturally found in your body. As your wound improves, Mirragen is absorbed into the surrounding tissue, eliminating the need for removal.
See how Mirragen is handled and adapted to the wound bed. MSP can arrange staff education covering product sizing, handling, moisture considerations and dressing requirements using the manufacturer’s instructions.

The soft, moldable fiber structure can be shaped to fit wound contours and absorb wound fluid.

Mirragen and MirraSurg contain no human donor tissue. Room-temperature storage and no thawing requirement help simplify product handling and availability.

The borate-based glass fibers and particles gradually break down following exposure to wound fluid, supporting natural wound healing.
We bring together product information, published evidence and instructions for use so your clinical team can assess the technology and identify the questions an evaluation should answer.
We coordinate education on handling, sizing and application considerations, with manufacturer resources available for clinical questions that need further review.
We help organize clinical references, product specifications, storage requirements and ordering information for your facility’s review process. We also help coordinate the practical details of getting an evaluation started.
We provide access to wound documentation tools and product evaluation forms. For Mirragen, we connect your billing team with the manufacturer’s benefit-verification and reimbursement resources to address coverage and documentation questions.
We stay involved with product questions, supply coordination and staff feedback, helping your team review its experience and determine the next steps.
We will stay involved with the clinical team every step of the way, even after product adoption. Specific wound planning assistance, reimbursement support, and product selection and coordination all the way through wound closure.

48% versus 24% complete wound closure at 12 weeks
In a 2025 randomized clinical trial involving noninfected, nonischemic Wagner grade 1 diabetic foot ulcers, 48% of wounds treated with Mirragen plus standard care closed by 12 weeks, compared with 24% treated with collagen alginate dressings plus standard care.
Results reflect the modified intent-to-treat analysis of 133 participants. The study was funded by ETS Wound Care. Review the publication for eligibility criteria, methods and limitations.
Mirragen and MirraSurg use a porous network of bioactive glass fibers and microspheres to provide a temporary scaffold within the wound bed. Their soft, moldable structure conforms to wound contours and absorbs wound fluid while supporting the natural healing process.
The scaffold provides a physical structure for the body’s repair cells, which contribute to:
• Granulation tissue formation — Fibroblasts deposit collagen that helps build new tissue within the wound.
• Blood vessel development — Endothelial cells participate in forming the small blood vessels that supply developing tissue.
• Renewal of the wound surface — Keratinocytes help form new epithelium as the wound heals.

The scaffold’s fibers dissolve over 1-2 weeks, creating space
for native collagen deposition and blood vessel formation
that are essential for granulation tissue.

The scaffold’s microspheres can persist up to 3 weeks or
longer, continuing to create a sustainable environment
conducive to wound healing.
